The Pickards visit Hull

Emily, Nik, Edith & Megan stayed at Holiday Inn Hull Marina between Christmas 2019 and New Year.

They enjoyed overnight accommodation in one of our adjoining family rooms plus the perks of our V.I.K. programme (Very Important Kids) where children receive a wristband on arrival to enjoy treats of their choice such as hot chocolate and ice cream, throughout the stay.

Taking advantage of our kids eat free perk, they enjoyed dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the following morning overlooking Hull Marina.

Where did they visit, and what did they do?

The Pickards loved their visit to The Deep where the sharks were a firm favourite followed by a crisp walk to take in Hull’s Fish Trail the following day.

They even managed to fit in a scream and shout supporting Hull Pirates in their clash against Sheffield Steeldogs.

Kid-Blog

Budding writer Edith put her skills to the test and wrote a wonderful blog following her stay called Kid-Blog. Read all about it:

“Have you ever wanted an amazing trip away with your family? We went to Hull and we had a brilliant time!

You can stay at a hotel – ours had a card for a treat where you can choose between ice cream, fruit salad and a chocolate bar. I chose a chocolate bar! We were ‘Very Important Kids’.

Me and my little sister had a room to ourselves with a comfy bed each. The room had a door to mummy and daddies room. Outside the window I could see the sea with loads of boats on it.

I really like Hull. We went to the Deep because it was really near to our hotel. We went in the shark tunnel and at the beginning there was a really cool 3D dinosaur thing and it looked like it was going to smash out of the screen…and it did!

Near the hotel there is also an ice-skating rink where we watched proper players doing hockey. They’re called the pirates. You can also ice skate there in the day.

On the morning before we went home, we did a fish trail. Watch out you might be tricked because some of the fish are pictures and some are words and sometimes there are both. I loved the fish trail even though we didn’t find every single one. On the trail we saw the tiniest window ever – it’s at another hotel in the city.

That was an amazing trip. My favourite thing about Hull is The Deep because I love the shark bit!”
