A63 Castle Street Improvement Works – Highways England Road Closures Update

  • From Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 March Highways England will be preventing right-hand turns for traffic approaching Mytongate roundabout from all directions (from the A63 eastbound and westbound, Ferensway and Commercial Road).
  • Access to Myton Street from the A63 Street has also been closed with alternative access from Ferensway, Osborne Street and Waterhouse Lane.
  • Warning signs and diversions will be in place with temporary traffic lights and will be in place until the underpass has been built.
  • As part of the changes, pedestrians will no longer be able to cross the A63 at the existing controlled crossing at William Booth House and the Whittington and Cat public house.
  • From Sunday 14 March pedestrian diversion routes will be in place with crossing points at Porter Street and across the new Murdoch’s Connection.

From the North

The A1 and M1 motorways join the M62. From the M62 join the A63 into Hull city centre. Before Daltry St. flyover take the slip road and follow the signage towards “Wm. Wright & Albert Docks (Fish Docks)”. At the roundabout take the 4th exit towards “Wm. Wright & Albert Docks (Fish Docks)”. Follow Daltry St. and take the first left towards “W. Wright & Albert Docks (Fish Docks)”. Follow Jackson St. which then merges to English St. When you reach the mini roundabout continue straight ahead (3rd exit). When you reach the mini roundabout take the 1st exit towards Commercial Rd. Continue for 100 metres and the Holiday Inn Hull Marina entrance will be on your right.

From the South

The M1 motorway joins the M18 which leads to the M62, then join the A63 into Hull city centre. Before Daltry St. flyover take the slip road and follow the signage towards “Wm. Wright & Albert Docks (Fish Docks)”. At the roundabout take the 4th exit towards “Wm. Wright & Albert Docks (Fish Docks)”. Follow Daltry St. and take the first left towards “W. Wright & Albert Docks (Fish Docks)”. Follow Jackson St. which then merges on to English St. When you reach the mini roundabout continue straight ahead (3rd exit). When you reach the 2nd mini roundabout take the 1st exit towards Commercial Rd. Continue for 100 metres and the Holiday Inn Hull Marina entrance will be on your right.

From the West

For travellers heading Eastbound towards Hull Docks recommended directions are:

Take a right turn at Commercial Rd. exit -> take a left turn at Mytongate roundabout towards A63 Castle St. -> Before Daltry St. flyover take the slip road and follow the signage towards “Infirmary, Anlaby” -> at the roundabout take the 4th exit towards “Docks A63”-> continue Eastbound on to the A63 towards your destination.
